Written in Arabic, it is recognized as an authoritative reference in the study of Islamic historical periods. The work spans world history from the beginning of creation to the year 628 AH (1231 CE) and holds particular significance for its examination of key events in Islamic history, including conquests, Islamic governance, the Crusades, and the Mongol invasions. Notably, the book has been translated into Persian through the efforts of Asatir Publications and Seyed Hossein Rouhani, making its profound insights accessible to Persian-speaking audiences.

کتاب «تاریخ کامل» (یا «الکامل فی التاریخ») اثر ابن اثیر (عزالدین ابوالحسن علی بن محمد الجزری معروف به ابن اثیر) یکی از مشهورترین و جامع ترین تواریخ جهان اسلام است که به زبان عربی نوشته شده و به عنوان مرجعی معتبر در مطالعات تاریخی دوران اسلامی شناخته میشود. این کتاب تاریخ جهان را از آغاز آفرینش تا سال ۶۲۸ هجری قمری(۱۲۳۱ میلادی) پوشش میدهد و بهویژه برای بررسی رویدادهای تاریخ اسلام، فتوحات، حکومتهای اسلامی، جنگهای صلیبی و حمله مغولان اهمیت فراوان دارد. این کتاب به همت انتشارات اساطیر و سید حسین روحانی به زبان فارسی ترجمه و چاپ شد.
