این کتاب علاوه بر  مجموعه ای ارزشمند از اسناد و مدارک مهم تاریخ معاصر ارومیه و غرب آذربایجان، می تواند بعدها در خصوص تاریخ غرب آذربایجان، محل مراجعه قرار می گیرد. اثر حاضر در برگیرنده زندگینامه تعدادی از رجال معاصر منطقه مزبور است که در مورد اغلب آن ها اطلاعاتی اندک وجود دارد. مصاحبه راوی با شاهدانی بسیار که برخی اکنون روی در نقاب خاک کشیده اند، موجب شده تا اثر مزبور به عنوان تاریخ شفاهی معاص ارومیه نیز محسوب گردد و به همین علت و ارائه مطالبی متنوع و منحصر به فردمنبع ارزشمندی محسوب شود. ارائه مستندات و ارجاع علمی به منابع متعدد و معتبر، از دیگر مزایای کتاب مزبور است.  

This book, in addition to being a valuable collection of documents and important records of contemporary history of Urmia and West Azerbaijan, can later serve as a reference for the history of West Azerbaijan. The present work includes the biographies of several contemporary figures from the mentioned region, for most of whom there is little information available. The narrator's interviews with numerous witnesses, some of whom have now passed away, have led to this work being considered as an oral history of contemporary Urmia. For this reason, along with the variety and uniqueness of the content, it is regarded as a valuable resource. The presentation of documentation and scientific references to multiple and credible sources is another advantage of this book.
