About the Author
Judith Barrand worked in Afghanistan in 2002 and 2003 for Caritas Internationalis as Press Officer. Jude is a former West of England newspaper journalist who moved on to Euronews in France and ITN in London. When she's abroad she reports for Vatican Radio on current events and the work of Catholic humanitarian projects. Jude lives in Rome and has also contributed material to Fodor's Guide to Rome.
Dominic Medley worked in Afghanistan in 2002 for Internews as Project Director setting up a journalist-training project from scratch. He returned in 2003 with Radio Free Afghanistan as Project Co-ordinator and journalist trainer. He has worked in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia, Albania, Romania and Indonesia on media development projects. Dominic is a former BBC journalist who reported for TV and radio in the west of England, with numerous reporting trips to Bosnia and Croatia during the war (as a journalist and humanitarian aid driver), as well as to Sierra Leone and Eritrea. Dominic spends as much time as he can at his home in Cape Town.
